Design Versatility Advantages

The Quad Seat Double Block and Bleed Valves consist of two complete ball valves connected to a machined center section which forms one valve body.  The center section is machined with a full port hole to align with and to match the bore of both valves.  It also has a ball seat pocket, a body seal groove and a bolt hole circle on both sides to mate with each ball valve.  The center section can be drilled with any size and combination of holes going into the thru-bore of the valve assembly.  For example:

• A single hole in the center section might be used as a vent port between the two ball valves to check the shutoff integrity of either valve making the Quad Seat valve a true Double Block and Bleed Isolation Valve.
• Punch four holes around the center section circumference 90 degrees apart.  The two holes on either side could be used as a thru-flush to clear the area between the balls, the top hole could have a gauge installed and the bottom hole could be used as a drain or sample port.
• Extend the length and enlarge the diameter of the center section.  Then mill flats on both sides, machine seat pockets on both flats and create a thru-bore hole to equal and intersect the existing valve bore.  Now simply install ball valves on both flats to create a very compact 4-way transfer valve assembly with each valve independently operable.
• Each valve in any Quad Seat Double Block and Bleed Valve Assembly can be rotated to allow each stem to be oriented in any one of four quadrants.  this insures clearance for any lever handle, gear box or actuator from interfering with close proximity equipment or with each other.
• The Quad Seat Double Block and Bleed Valve could also become a manifold valve by extending the center section several feet and drilling many hole along its length.  the versatility is exceptional.  We configure the Quad Seat Double Block and Bleed Valve based solely on customer requirements and imagination.

After assembly of the Quad Seat Double Block and Bleed Valve, each integral ball valve and then the complete valve combination are tested to exceed API 596 specifications for zero leakage and full body integrity.  Thorough functional testing of every Quad Seat Double Block and Bleed Valve is the final inspection that insures it is ready for installation upon delivery.
